The New Music Experiment

A new initiative to foster musical creativity and innovation, The New Music Experiment is a multi-day workshop that is part of LexPhil's Composer-In-Residence Program occurring in February 2012. Participants have the opportunity to work with composers, conductors and musicians while bringing new art to life. The workshop will culminate in a performance of new works on Feb. 17 in the Recital Hall at Singletary Center for the Arts, prior to the LexPhil Classics Concert.

Composers at various levels (high school, college, adult amateur and pre-professional) may submit their original works for consideration. Submission guidelines are available on the LexPhil website or by request at education@lexphil.org. Submissions are due by December 16, 2011.

Advanced musicians high school age and up are chosen through an application and audition process to form the ensemble that will play the winning compositions Application information is available online or by request at education@lexphil.org. Deadline for submission is December 16, 2011. Cost for participation is $20/person upon acceptance into the program.
